SABER Contract awarded to SKE SSG

2010-07-12

On 8 July, 2010, SKE Support Services GmbH (SKE SSG) was awarded one of four Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Reqiremnts (SABER) Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contracts by the 700th Contracting Squadron, United States Air Force Europe. The total contract amount is 275 Milllion U.S. Dollars over a five year period (1 Base year and 4 Option years). Other awardees on the contract are Bilfinger Berger AG, F.K. Horn GmbH, and Mikan Generalbau. Task Order requirements will be competed among the awardees with low bid, technically acceptable proposal receiving Task Order awards. Individual Task Order work will be performed at Ramstein Air Base (AB), Spandahlem AB, Sembach AB, Einsiedlerhof Air Station, Kapaun Air Station, Landstuhl and Vogelweh Military Family Housing, Bitburg AB Annex, Oberweis and Buechal. Task Order work performed will be within the borders of Germany.

SKE Support Services GmbH (SSG) awarded a 24 Million Euro "Job Order" contract from the US Army Europe in Ansbach Germany on 26 Feb 2010.

2010-03-04

This contract is significant as it was awarded to an SKE competitor in August 2009. This award was "protested" by SKE SSG based upon alleged procedural and process inadequacies within the US Government contracting system. This caused a re-solicitation of the contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers in November 2009 only to firms that submitted proposals for the original tender. SKE was ultimately successful in this re-bid process thus securing the contract award in February 2010.The contract will support the consolidation and relocation of US ARMY aviation assets in Europe at the Ansbach facilities. The contract is an "Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity" type which covers a three year period (one base year and two option years) and will run through February 2013 or until the 24 million Euro capacity has been expended.

2008-06-10

This US Army Corps of Engineers project for complete renovation of seven residential buildings at Stuttgart-Möhringen – the largest SKE SSG renovation project to date - has now been completed. Since the project was started in September 2006, SKE has performed 297,622 work hours, replaced 8,000 sqm of roof tiles and installed 130,000 m of cable. TM Stuttgart & SKE SSG Donate €10,000 to the Wounded Warrior Fund

2007-12-19

On 30 November, Winfried Hartmann CEO of TM Stuttgart GmbH (TM) and Scott Brubaker representing SKE Support Services Gmbh (SSG), donated a €10,000 check to Chaplain James Griffith (U.S. Army Colonel) for the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) Wounded Warrior Fund.

The Wounded Warrior Fund is managed by the LRMC Chaplain’s Office and is supported by military and civilian volunteer efforts, and by individual, organizational, and corporate gifts and funds. The program provides clothing, toiletries, and many other helpful items for soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and civilians receiving treatment at the hospital.

Although the military medical system provides excellent medical services, the system does not provide much needed basic essential items to wounded personnel who have been evacuated from military operational areas and are convalescing or being transferred to medical facilities in the USA. The funds provide these comfort items which are much welcomed beyond the traditional hospital gown, bathrobe and slippers.

Chaplain Griffith explained that the program had grown from a simple idea a few years ago by nurses at the hospital who recognized the need to a $300,000 operation housed in its own building. Chaplain Griffith noted that the only problem they have is that patients are often reluctant to take what they need because they are concerned there won’t be enough for those coming later. During a short tour of the facility, Chaplain Griffith pointed to a plastic box simply labelled, “single shoes”—a very real reminder of the sacrifices some of the patients have made.

SSG and TM are proud to contribute to the Wounded Warrior Fund and in this small way give back something to our ultimate customers. This donation was made by these two SKE firms in lieu of holiday gifts to customers and employees and is highlighted in the firms annual holiday cards.
